Scentsy Fragrance Convention Day 2

Scentsy Convention Day 2!!
Last night was full of fun events and special time with Scentsy family.  Scentsy really outdid themselves this year with parties that were outstanding!!!  There were three parties to choose from including and Elvis impersonator, cirque du soleil and an ultra lounge.  We chose to do the Ultra Lounge, which was the scene for a flash mob to “I’m Scentsy and I know it.”  It was so much fun to dance and have fun with friends, new and old.
This morning, we attended the first session where they announced some awesome new additions!
First of all is the change to the name.  Instead of Scentsy Wickless, we will now be called Scentsy Fragrance instead so that the name will encompass all of the new Layers products as well.
The layers line will now be included in the regular catalog and there will be new combine and save options where you can purchase different products like body wash, lotion and spray instead of multiple lotions like before.  They have also included hand soap and bath tablets!  They've also added 10 new fragrances to the layers line.  The new fragrances include: Awakening, Be Still, Coconut Lemongrass, Linger, Love Story, Luck in Love, Route 66, RU N2 Me, Skinny Dippin, Sunkissed Citrus, White tea and Cactus, Sugar Cookie, French Lavendar, Satin Sheets
The laundry products will also include Sunkissed Citrus and French Lavendar!
The new charitable warmer is called Champion and will be supporting the Special Olympics.  $8 from every purchase of this warmer will go directly to the Special Olympics.   This cause is especially close to my heart since my sweet nephew, Ben, that was a Special Olympian this year.  Go, Ben Go!!!
Stay tuned for new updates!  This afternoon should be when we find out what Brand X is!!!!!  I.  Can’t. Wait.

Scentsational Saturday

My saturday was so scent-sational, I forgot to post my scentsational Saturday post!  Oops!  It's going to be a Scentsational Sunday anyway, so I'll post a day late.  Today I have a helpful Scentsy tip.
For all of you that have a plug-in,  I know you've gone through the predicament of "how do I change this wax without spilling it all over the place?"  Well, here are a couple of ways to do just that!
If the wax is melted, turn the plug-in off and grab a paper towel.  Gently hold the wadded up paper towel in the wax to absorb some.  While holding the paper towel in the wax, pull the plug in out of the wall.  Pour the remainder of the wax in the trash can (or back in the container if it still has scent) and wipe the dish clean.
If you're patient enough to let the wax harden, pop the plug-in out of the wall and pop the wax out with a butter knife.
I hope this helps someone and saves you from cleaning wax off your walls or floor!
Stay tuned next saturday to learn how to get that wax out of your carpet should you need it!

Introducing.... VELATA!!!

Check it out!  Scentsy family has introduced a new line company that is launching today!!!  This is a never done before venture for Scentsy and I'm so excited to be a part of it!  Scentsy announced at the annual convention last year in Fort Worth, Texas that they were launching not only the Layers by Scentsy  extension with products such as lotion, body butter, shower gel, shower cream, solid perfume and body spray.  They also announced that there would be another brand altogether that would fall under the Scentsy "umbrella."  A direct sales company has never done this before.  But Scentsy will operate multiple brands under the name "Scentsy Family."  The awesome thing is, every brand they start, I have a choice to sign up to sell it... or not!  I love that they are giving all of their consultants the first opportunity to sell their new products, but also giving us the option of selling it or not.
When they announced Velata at convention last year, I admit, I was skeptical.  I wasn't sure how that would fit into my typical sales presentation (although I don't really do a sales presentation).  But after I was learning about the product and hearing how delicious and exquisite the chocolate is, I couldn't resist.  I love chocolate. And one of my favorite things in the world is fondue.  Seriously, we go to the Melting Pot for every major holiday.  I am so excited to share this new experience with you!  The idea is the same as Scentsy as far as the mechanics go.  The warmer is similar in that it only warms with light bulb.  So, you can have family fondue night without worrying about your kids getting burned on a flame.
The dish at the top of the warmer is made of silicone with a metal plate inside.  The chocolate comes in a pouch that you pop into the microwave until melted, then pour into the silicone dish.  The dish keeps it at just the right temperature for dipping (and even has a temperature control on the cord to help increase or decrease depending on the volume of chocolate left).
You can dip all kinds of amazing things... some of the ones I'm excited about are:
strawberries, bananas, pound cake, marshmallows, graham crackers, potato chips (soooo good!), peanut butter crackers (you know, the little mini ones)... you name it, you dip it!  I heard someone say they loved chocolate covered bacon!  To each his own!  ;)
I think this would be such a fun tradition for a family.  Family game night with fondue for dessert!  I have a warmer and some chocolate on hand.  I'd love to share it with you and your friends.   If you want to simply come over for a taste test, let me know and I'll be happy to get it ready for you.  There will be a launch party coming up (I'm thinking the end of May) for everyone to drop in for a taste!
Velata also has a hostess rewards plan just like Scentsy.  If you would like to host a Velata party to get your chocolate for FREE, I can't think of a more fun party than taste testing chocolate!  We could even combine the two (Scentsy and Velata) and have a "Dip your feet and dip your treat" party!  I'll provide the pedicure tubs with Layers shower cream to soak your feet and you can taste the Velata after you're all relaxed!

SCENT-sational Saturday!

I LOVE this Bride warmer!!!  I think it's the perfect amount of neutral but with beautiful detail.  This would make a wonderful Mother's day gift and don't forget about all the teacher gifts that need to be purchased before long!
As always, I am happy to answer any questions you might have.  I've gotten pretty good at guessing scents that you will love based on what you've loved in the past.  So, if you want a warmer for mom, let me know what kinds of scents she likes and I can lead you toward one that should be a great fit.  I want to make sure you're in love with all of your choices, so if you ever get a scent you don't love, let me know!  I'll trade it out for you.  Check out my website: http://tiffanymckeown.scentsy.us
And.... Tuesday, April 28 will be a BIG day at my house!  My new chocolate fondue will be here that day and I can't wait to try it out and share it with all of you.   It's all straight from Belgium... and it's premium stuff, folks.  The brand name will be Velata and we will have 4 flavors to start with.   Caramel, Milk chocolate, Dark chocolate and White chocolate... I would love to share this with you and your friends.  Let me know if you want to be one of the first to share this new concept!

My memory is GONE

I know I've heard of Mommy brain before, but, folks, it a real thing. I think there should be some sort of transplant or, at the very least, a daily pill to restore memory after having children. I'm pretty sure if it's not written down, it's not going to get done. In fact, there's a chance it won't get noticed if it IS written down. Or I won't remember where I wrote it. That's also likely. I have a special forgetfulness with emails. I remember seeing them, but then I can't locate them. Or I read them on my phone, intending to write back on my computer (because who wants to type a full response on a phone!?) and then I forget. I need a special folder in my email for pending emails or something. But I'd probably forget that, too. Not to mention the fact that life right now is busy. Really busy. I normally spend my days doing something for someone else. And I like it that way. But, my Scentsy business is busy right now. And for that, I'm really thankful! I am so excited about a lot of the opportunities coming my way this month. I am working at Kidsmarket, a giant consignment sale, and I've been trying to get in there for the past 3 seasons. It's always booked! Well, at the last sale, their Scentsy consultant didn't show up. I'm embarrassed by that. I don't know her. In fact, she didn't even tell me her name, but I think it looks bad on our company. However, her loss is my gain! I will show up! And so will my team. I hope to put up some pictures of our table at Kidsmarket. I'm setting up tomorrow (partially) and then I have a Scentsy party in the neighborhood Monday morning and I'll work the rest of the day at Kidsmarket. I'll also be there all day Tuesday. If you are there, come see me! My teammates are working Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Since we will be in Nashville, we won't have anyone to man the table on Friday, but we will leave a drawing box so that people can still register to win a prize!
With that time at Kidsmarket, and all of the birthdays this month (what in the world is the deal with April birthdays???), Jason and I are having to sit down with our calendars to figure out how we are going to get everyone to their destinations on time. I still don't know how we are going to swing it... but we will try!
So, all that lack of memory leads me to these two friends...

Meet my Erin Condren planner and my MomAgenda all in one folio. I don't know what I would do without these two. If it's not in here, it doesn't get done. Seriously.
I got my Erin Condren life planner in August, I believe and I love it. It is seriously the best planner I've ever purchased. I used MomAgenda before that. I liked them too, but I love the spiral binding on this one. I like that I can lay it all the way open. I love that I can personalize it. At the bottom it has our name and a line from one of my favorite songs, "Do everything you do to the glory of the one who made you, for he made you." That needs to be the theme of my life... so I thought it was important to include it on my life planner. It also has month at a glance pages, every day broken down into morning, day and evening, pockets, encouraging quotes, bright, cheerful colors... I think it's perfection. Erin Condren also has lots of other products that are awesome. I have some of their notepads, a case for my iphone that matches my life planner.... I love them! It's a bit pricey, but I think it's totally worth it for a good planner. And you all know how much I like for everything to match! I wish she made a couch in that print. Just kidding... kind of.
The hot pink number in the photo is my momAgenda all-in-one folio. This guy plays second fiddle to my planner as I don't use it everyday. Almost, but not quite. In it, I have rosters for all three of my girls classes, with parents' phone numbers, party dates, who's bringing what... that kind of stuff. I have all of my room-mom information. I keep my newsletters from their schools in there with important dates. I had soccer info when that was going on, and I'll have Irish dance stuff going in there soon. Basically every piece of paper that is important and pertains to our family goes in this book. And it's all filed accordingly. So, for the PTO meeting, I will show up with both of these friends. They are like my brain, living outside of me. I'm thankful for them! In fact, without looking in the momAgenda, I can't even remember what all is in there. :)
If you are in the market for a good planner or overall way to stay organized, you really can't go wrong with Erin Condren or momAgenda. I wish I got a referral fee for these folks, I can't tell you how many people have taken one look at my fabulous planner and gone running to order their own. For reals. It's awesome!

Scent-sational Saturday

Buenos Dias!! We are safely in Argentina! The flight was MUCH longer than we expected and very bumpy. I honestly thought we were going down in Columbia... thankfully we are here safe and sound. I took a nap and we are trying to figure out what we are going to do today! I wanted to tell my Scentsy story since I haven't done that on here yet. I can't leave out a huge part of my life on this blog!!! I know most of you know (and probably are my customers, ha!) about my Scentsy business. I started a year ago. Happy anniversary to me!! I absolutely love it! It gives me an outlet... I love folders. Is that weird? I like to know that I've finished a task. There aren't many tasks in motherhood that are ever finished. Everything I do (just about) are like a revolving door. I think I've finished the laundry and bam! The basket is full again. I unload the dishwasher and there is another meal or snack to clean up. I vacuum and someone walks through... that's all it really takes. I'm not meaning to complain, but a mother's work is never done. However, with Scentsy, I can start a task... and complete it. Once I've delivered a customer's order... it's done. I've satisfied that customer and completed a task. It's such a great feeling! Not to mention that I get to have guaranteed "girl's night" a couple of times a month. This isn't a career for me (although some women and men have made it just that), it's a part time job. I normally do about one home party a month. Sometimes I do more, sometimes less... and then I normally have a couple of online parties a month. These are just times when post a facebook status asking if anyone needs anything and I get a ton of responses. I put in the order and, hey, I get a payday! You can't beat that! And I lurve it! I can work when it fits my schedule! And I can tell the kids, "mommy's working" when I need a few minutes to practice being a grown up. It's just the perfect fit for me. I love the product. I mean, really love it! I use it in almost every room of my home. It's safe, it smells awesome and it's beautiful!
I am so thankful for the blessings Scentsy has brought to my life. I have met so many new friends. I have laughed more than I thought possible, and I get to have something that is just mine. It has nothing to do with my family. I love my family, but I need some time away. I need some "me time." Scentsy is a wonderful product to sell because 1. It sells itself. Once people smell the wax... they fall in love. 2. It's consumable. The wax loses it's smell after about 120 hours... so that means people come back to buy more wax. And I don't have to work for that. I just provide it and I get paid! I tell people all the time, I don't sell Scentsy, I just provide it. It truly sells itself. I get a warmer every month and this month's warmer is called "Mother's day" I think it's beautiful!!! The photos don't do it justice... but it's stunning. It's a great, neutral color that would work in any decor. And I love the touch of bling on the front. Such an eye catcher! The scent is ah-mazing! I love it! I wasn't wild about last month's scent. I'm always honest when you ask my opinion about a scent. However, everyone's sniffer is different. What one person loves, the next can't stand! This month's scent is wonderful!!! To see a picture of this month's warmer along with all the new warmers, which I can't seem to upload, check out my website http://tiffanymckeown.scentsy.us. Scentsy also just released a new line of bath and body products. The lotion is perfect! I love the scents they chose, I love the way they feel on my skin.
I hope you'll check out my website and ask me any questions you might have about the products or starting your own home business!
